Marek is a designer from Amsterdam who uses textiles as his medium. His focus is on the individual, ensuring that his clients stand out from the crowd. With a unique sense of colors and patterns, he uses and combines materials that are no longer in use. His creations challenge your ideas of what is possible, acceptable, and necessary. Marek is passionate about upcycling. “A large part of my efforts involves using unusual materials or fabrics that are unwanted. I love upcycling. Transforming a tablecloth into shorts or an old curtain into a jacket stimulates my creativity. I look beyond the old function of an object to see it in a completely different light, telling the story behind it and opening our eyes and minds. When I come across an interesting material, I always ask, ‘How can I wear this?’ At the same time, I help reduce textile waste bit by bit.” By turning the old into the new, Marek makes the unwanted fascinating again.
